@lambda_functor 帳號可信度分析報告

帳號名稱「lambda_functor」暗示具有函數式程式設計背景。

RT @hardmaru: We recently worked with The Yomiuri Shimbun to analyze more than a million social media posts to map out state-sponsored information campaigns. https://t.co/fBQQLg1glS Keyword searches are fragile for modern OSINT. To fix this, our team used an ensemble of different LLMs combined with our Novelty Search algorithm to extract underlying narratives purely from context. (e.g., The system successfully mapped posts demanding "a politician retract a statement" to the broader, hidden narrative of "Taiwan interference"). The system clusters these granular narratives hierarchically and generates testable hypotheses, citing specific evidence. Human journalists took the AI-generated hypotheses, interviewed real-world government sources, and verified the timeline of the coordinated campaign our system uncovered. Fascinating look at human-AI collaboration for intelligence analysis.

RT @dwarkesh_sp: When Copernicus proposed heliocentrism in 1543, it was actually less accurate than Ptolemy's geocentric model - a system refined over 1,400 years with epicycles precisely tuned to match observed planetary positions. It took another 70 years before Kepler, working from Tycho Brahe's unprecedentedly precise observations, replaced Copernicus’s circles with ellipses - finally making heliocentrism empirically superior. Terence Tao's point is that science needs a high temperature setting. If we only fund and follow what's most state of the art today, we kill the ideas that might need decades of work to surpass some overall plateau.

RT @dwarkesh_sp: If AI scientists are writing millions of papers, many of which are slop, and some of which are incremental progress, how would we identify the one or two which come up with an extremely productive new idea? In 1948, Shannon was one of hundreds of engineers at Bell Labs working on how to cleanly send voice signals over noisy copper wires. His paper sat in the same technical journal as reports on reducing static and building better filters. How would you recognize that he has come up with this very general framework for thinking about information and communication channels, which over the coming decades would have enormous use from domains as far apart as cryptography to genetics to quantum mechanics? It seems like it can take fields multiple decades to recognize the significance of unifying new concepts. Because it is on that time scale that the fruits of such general concepts lead to new discoveries across many different fields. We’ve managed to solve this peer review problem for human scientists (at least somewhat). Now we’ll need to do it at a much greater scale for the mass of AI science that will be thrown at us.

RT @dwarkesh_sp: The Terence Tao episode. We begin with the absolutely ingenious and surprising way in which Kepler discovered the laws of planetary motion. People sometimes say that AI will make especially fast progress at scientific discovery because of tight verification loops. But the story of how we discovered the shape of our solar system shows how the verification loop for correct ideas can be decades (or even millennia) long. During this time, what we know today as the better theory can often actually make worse predictions (Copernicus's model of circular orbits around the sun was actually less accurate than Ptolemy's geocentric model). And the reasons it survives this epistemic hell is some mixture of judgment and heuristics that we don’t even understand well enough to actually articulate, much less codify into an RL loop. Hope you enjoy! 0:00:00 – Kepler was a high temperature LLM 0:11:44 – How would we know if there’s a new unifying concept within heaps of AI slop? 0:26:10 – The deductive overhang 0:30:31 – Selection bias in reported AI discoveries 0:46:43 – AI makes papers richer and broader, but not deeper 0:53:00 – If AI solves a problem, can humans get understanding out of it? 0:59:20 – We need a semi-formal language for the way that scientists actually talk to each other 1:09:48 – How Terry uses his time 1:17:05 – Human-AI hybrids will dominate math for a lot longer Look up Dwarkesh Podcast on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, or Spotify.
